Patricia Garcia-Gomez is a Mexican-American artist working with visual media and sound (site responsive installations). Originally from Brownsville, Texas, she now lives in New York.
She is a soulful practitioner of expressing the essence of people and communities in her work.
She was one of the first Westerners granted access to the matriarchal Miao tribe in China, and she has also documented groundbreaking women artists such as Agnes Martin and Leonora Carrington.
Her work is part of the permanent archives of the Tate Modern, UK; the Museum of Arts and Design, NYC; the Henry Buhl collection, NYC; the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, CA, and; the Harwood Museum, New Mexico.
